Alaska is Dead

1.      This is when the climax is reached in the story. Dr.Hyde also known as The Eagle in the story comes into Miles and Colonel’s room only to deliver some bad news. Their first thought when he knocked on the door was that he knew they were the one that did the prank, but that wasn’t even close to the news he came to deliver. Dr.Hyde told them that they weren’t in trouble, he just demanded that they go to the gym immediately, and so they did. When they entered the gym they walked into a full stadium of people only to find Dr.Hyde standing on a podium with tears falling down his cheeks delivering news that will change their lives. Alaska had died in a car accident. Hearing the news instantly made Miles and the Colonel’s mood change. They were just asking around trying to figure out where Alaska was, but comes to find out she was dead. They instantly thought about the night they let her drive off campus intoxicated. All Colonel could do was cry and scream “I’m sorry” nonstop and Miles began to reminisce about their last night together.
