By Aurora Revised

“And before the sun sets on her 16th birthday she shall prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die,” Maleficent cursed upon Aurora. I chose to pick the story to be told in Aurora’s perspective because she didn’t have much of a voice in the movie. Aurora was basically punished for something that her father King Stephan had did to Maleficent. In the movie Maleficent fell in love with King Stephan, and he cut off her wings in order to become the king. Him cutting off her wings caused Maleficent to seek out for revenge and curse his daughter Aurora. Even though Aurora is basically the main focus in the movie, who she was never really gotten addressed. She was basically characterized as a pawn between Maleficent and King Stephan. I believe that
I believe that the story should be told in Aurora’s perspective because she is the key stone of the story, and the story from her perspective was never told. Although Aurora was cursed with dying at the age of 16 she was also gifted with beauty, and song.  In the movie she is basically the damsel in distressed, and is in between something she knows nothing about. While she was sent away in the enchanted forest she grew up loving Maleficent, and looking up to her as a mother figure. If the story were to be told in Aurora’s perspective a lot of things would be added to the story.
First I think that her questioning where her parents were would be added considering they were never in her life, and she only met her dad when she was 16. The second thing that would be added would be how she felt when she met her dad for the first time, and him immediately locking her away. The third thing that would be added would be why she choose to help Maleficent get her wings back even though she cursed her instead of siding with her father. The fourth thing I think would be added would be how she felt about Prince Phillip because when he kissed her the curse didn’t break, so did she really love him? All those things were never addressed in the movie, and forever is a mystery.
If the story was told in her perspective a lot of things would be lost as well. The entire story behind why Maleficent cursing her would be lost, what made King Stefan cut off her wings, Maleficent ending up loving Aurora and wanting to take back the curse.  Another thing that would be lost would be Aurora being naive to the curse and who Maleficent was to her. Last but not least, Maleficent and Aurora’s journeys together bringing them[AM1]  closer would be lost. If Aurora would be the one to tell the story I believe her role in the story would be more well-rounded.
I believe the story should be told in Aurora’s perspective because she plays a big part in the story, and if it wasn’t for her there wouldn’t even be a story. If Aurora were to tell the story from her point of view I believe there would be more emotions added into the story. How Aurora truly felt was never told in the story, we as a viewer had to analyze her feelings based on her actions in the movie

Throughout the movie Aurora never really had a voice until towards the end of the movie when she choose to side with Maleficent against her father. She plays a big role in the entire movie, and I believe her voice should be heard.
